How we report on the market

Kuryente Markets follows the same newsroom standards as Kuryente News, adapted for financial coverage. These are the rules we hold ourselves to.

Sources

We rely on primary sources: PSE EDGE filings, Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas statements, SEC Philippines filings, Philippine Statistics Authority data, and companies’ audited financial statements. Wire reports are cited with attribution. Anonymous sources are used only when the information is of clear public interest, cannot be obtained otherwise, and an editor has approved their use.

Corrections

We correct errors promptly and transparently. A correction is marked at the top of the affected page with the date and what changed. Material factual corrections are also noted in the next daily wrap. To request a correction, email info@kuryentenews.com.

Conflicts of interest

Staff disclose personal holdings when they conflict with coverage. No staff member writes about a stock they hold without disclosure. We accept no compensation from listed issuers, brokers, or advertisers in exchange for coverage. Where a conflict cannot be managed by disclosure, the story is reassigned or declined.

Artificial intelligence

We use AI tools for translation drafts, code, research assistance, and editorial support. All published copy is reviewed and edited by a human before publication. Bisaya translations are reviewed for idiomatic accuracy by a Bisaya-speaking editor. Fabricated quotations and fabricated data are prohibited.

Independence and the firewall

There is a clear separation between our editorial and business operations. Advertising and affiliate revenue do not influence what we cover or how we cover it. No broker, listed issuer, or advertiser has any say over editorial decisions.

Funding model

Kuryente Markets is funded by subscriptions (primary), advertising on the parent Kuryente News site, and affiliate referrals to brokers (always disclosed). Subscription pricing is set by our mission, not by maximizing extraction from readers.

Bisaya editorial standard

Bisaya content is original journalism, not machine translation. Where the same idea appears in both languages, the Bisaya version may use different framing or examples appropriate to Bisaya-speaking audiences.

Anti-recommendation policy

We publish analysis, screens, and signals. We never tell readers to buy or sell a specific security. The decision is always yours. See our disclaimer for the full statement on why this is not investment advice.

Reader complaints

Email info@kuryentenews.com (subject line: EDITORIAL CONCERN). We respond within five business days. Serious complaints are escalated to the Editor-in-Chief.
