Alliance Global Group
About Alliance Global Group
Alliance Global Group is the holding company of businessman Andrew Tan. It brings together four very different businesses: Megaworld in property and township development, Emperador in liquor (brandy and Scotch whisky), Travellers International — operator of Resorts World Manila — in tourism and gaming, and Golden Arches Development, the master franchisee of McDonald's in the Philippines. That mix gives investors a single exposure to real estate, branded spirits, integrated-resort tourism and quick-service dining.
What moves the stock
Each unit answers to a different cycle, so AGI's results are a blend. Megaworld ties the group to office and residential demand, BPO leasing and interest rates; Emperador depends on consumer spending and export markets for spirits; Travellers swings with tourism, foreign-visitor arrivals and gaming revenue; and McDonald's tracks everyday consumer demand. As a holding company, AGI also trades well below the combined value of its listed parts, so any move to surface that value — share buybacks, restructuring or stronger dividends — can be a catalyst. Recovery in tourism and resilient consumer spending are the themes the market watches most.
